Iran suspended all trips by pilgrims to Saudi Arabia

In the midst of worsening relations between Iranian and Saudi Arabia because of the conflict in Yemen, Iranian is now banned its citizens to go umrah to Mecca and Medina.

This temporary ban imposed after alleged revealed that two Iranian women pilgrims abused by two security officers Saudi Arabia when they want to go home past the Jeddah Airport last month.
Iranian Culture Minister, Ali Jannati, said the ban Umrah applies to those responsible prosecuted and punished accordingly, meanwhile the Saudi Arabian authorities have arrested two security officers.

The BBC's Middle East affairs, Sebastian Usher, reported the sexual abuse scandal and the recent religious increasingly worsen relations between the two countries. Both countries are known to support the different camps in the conflict in Yemen.

While in Iran domestic situation, allegations of sexual harassment experienced by two pilgrims of the country is also a concern of citizens. Hundreds of people staged a protest in front of the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Tehran on Saturday (11/04) demanded strict action against Saudi Arabia.
