North Korea's defense minister reportedly executed by being shot using anti-aircraft guns as punishment for falling asleep in an official ceremony attended by the country's leader, Kim Jong Un.
Hyon Yong Chol (66) charged with treason after showing "disrespect" to Kim Jong Un in a military event. The news was conveyed South Korea Intelligence Service (NIS) to politicians in a parliamentary meeting.
NIS said that the execution of Hyon Yong Chol witnessed hundreds of military officials in late April. Executions were carried out in a field at the military training center Kanggon, north of Pyongyang.
South Korean news agency, Yonhap, reported, Yong Chol was executed by being shot using anti-aircraft guns.
Meanwhile, North Korea's Committee for Human Rights (HRNK) based in the United States believe, the execution of Yong Chol using six anti-aircraft guns, ZPU-4.
The weapon, said HRNK, is a very powerful weapon that has a range of up to 8,000 meters. However, for the purposes of the execution, the gun just fired from a distance of 30 meters.
HRNK even publishes a number of satellite images showing areas claimed high-ranking officials to North Korea to watch the execution.
